PS3 Controller Windows 7 | First Step – Download the Driver

The first step in plugging in your PS3 controller on Windows 7 is to download the driver. The latest functioning driver is from Motioninjoy. You can download the driver for 32 bit Windows or 64 bit Windows. If you are unsure of which version of windows you have or do not know what these are, you most likely have 32 bit Windows. Do not install the driver yet, just download it.

Second Step – Plug in Your Controller

The second step consist of simply plugging in your PS3 controller on your pc via USB port. Windows will most likely tell you that you already have the necessary drivers and that your device is ready to use, this is not true, continue following these instructions.

Third Step – Install the Driver

You are now ready to install the motioninjoy driver. Simply run the .exe contained in the .zip file and follow the instructions to install the driver.

Fourth Step – Run the DS3 Tool

Load the USB driver (you need to be connected to the Internet) then run the DS3 tool. From there, go on “Driver Manager” page and click on Load Driver, the installation process is now launched.
